About Me
Howdy! If you're reading this, it means you stumbled upon my about me page! Which contains completely useless information unless you're looking for information about me, which in the rarest cases, is NO ONE.
I have a lot of hobbies - and I'll start from scratch.
I guess I came onto the internet by playing a lot of MMOs years ago. I started out roughly on Guild Wars which is still the best MMO of all time. All campaigns and releases of the game were sheer brilliance and the effort of teamwork in the game is just great. Love that game, and I may occasionally play it still. That information is contained at the bottom.
Then I started browsing forums - typical Guild Wars forums I suppose, until I discovered the path of signature making and graphics. I started using GIMP and Photoshop, until making signatures lost my interest and I wanted to move onto something bigger and better. It was at that point that a few friends pointed me towards web development and programming. Nothing too serious, HTML, CSS, and then maybe if I got lucky, I would've used Javascript back then. I figured that websites aren't really too popular if all you do is make signatures, so I needed to move onwards with my life once more.
Then I got into digital painting - the greatest form of digital arts I can possibly imagine. Creating something by hand is thrilling, fun, and frustrating all at the same time because you can see a billion possibilities in front of you, and reap them with a flick of your pen. I got a Wacom Intuos3 9x12 tablet some years ago and I continue to practice and get better over a gradual time. Programs I may use - Photoshop, GIMP, Artweaver, Painter, and ArtRage.
Around that time I got my own server hosting and developed a PHP-fueled website for two years. Gave up on it, since I didn't want to pay the host anymore. Will open up a new website soon, once I have reason.
Now I'm on a new track - a few years ago I was introduced into Python - which is the best language I can possibly think of. Not only is it short and simple, it's also neat and easy to maintain code. Also the readability for other readers is amazing, because it's so simple to understand. It's a fun language, and never frustrating. Even playing in the shell is just fun.
The next thing that's a part of me is my Xbox 360 - best gaming console ever, and flame wars can think otherwise, but I think the 360 is a well-made system. It has a lot of games that I love and enjoy, like Gears of War, Mass Effect, Fable 2, and Left 4 Dead. Don't think I would ever get a PS3. Or wait, actually I would, just so I could put Ubuntu on it.
Oh wait, I forgot to mention my new-found love for Linux and the distro Ubuntu. Ubuntu is a great distro to use - it comes with a lot of things already prepackaged - OpenOffice, Python, GIMP, Blender, Firefox, Pidgin, Rhythmbox, and tons more! I also recommend the Ubuntu Studio derivative if you want more power with 2D/3D graphics, Audio/Video production, and just a general environment aimed around art.
Now I'm basically going to school for Computer Science hoping to become a ... uh, scientist of computers, I guess? We'll see where that goes for me. In my spare time I play a lot of Xbox, program a lot of Python/PHP stuff, and am on frequently. Did I also forget to mention I help Whip out with stuff, like where to put his leftover cheesecake? Yeah I do that stuff too.
